Indication
Suspicion of autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) type 1.
Method
Indirect immunofluorescence (IIF)
Answer
The result is given as negative or positive with titer.
Interpretation
Smooth muscle antibodies are a marker for autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) type 1 and most often a clear positive response is observed. Slight positive results can be seen in connection with infection and have lower diagnostic significance. The positive response limit is set so that no more than 5% of healthy control subjects are positive.
Indikation
Misstanke om autoimmun hepatit (AIH) typ 1.
Metod
Indirekt immunofluorescens (IIIF)
Svar
